Seems good news, but once again the club tells the papers before the website(not having a go at you Dave)-the Phil Handford story was in the Gravesend Reporter yesterday.
Well done to the Reporter though,5 pages of Fleet news, including the front 2 pages( ! ) and the giving over of main sponsership

If it's blue then no problem, but you could have brought your red one last season, and thus not qualify.

If I hear anything more definite on this, I'll let you know.

So kids go free again on saturday? Can I just ask if the kid has to have an adult accompany them or not?

Dave's right. The fact is, if you bought a new blue shirt, then you must have bought it after 1st June, but if you havent and you have a red one then there is no way of proving you didn’t buy it previous to June eg February, as no reciepts are given. Therefore just because you have a red shirt doesnt mean you are entitled to a £10 discount! All very tricky!

Hmmmm.....so on the same grounds, those who bought a blue shirt should only get a discount on another blue shirt?

If those with a red shirt can't get a discount then there should be NO discounts on any red shirts.

Right....that's me stirring it up for the day!

Chief Executive Glenn Aitken said:

In fact, if you can produce a dated receipt to prove that you bought one of our previous shirts since 1 June 2003, you will receive a £10 discount off a new one

Knowing full well that no receipts exist..... (sniggers)

Forgive my sarcasm but it's my day off so I have nobody else to be sarcastic towards.....

You said the only ppl who can prove to have bought a shirt this year were those with blue shirts?

So surely the discount should be on the updated BLUE shirt?

Then everybody pays the full-price for a new red one.

Make sense now?

Actually I didn't but for the hard of understanding Connex workers, I said, it would not be a problem proving that you bought a blue shirt after first of June.

I did not say you would not be able to get discounts on Red Shirts what I said was that it wasn't automatic and that I would let you know morw when I could. And I will.

The shirts won't be available this weekend anyway so what are you getting all wound up about. Anyone would think it had taken you 5 hours to make a 1 hour train journey.

5 hours to make a 1 hour journey? That would be one of our express services.....

No so much wound up but amazed at the Chief Exec's rather ambiguous statement.

Mind you, I'll be even more amazed if the club shop staff were approached about the discount before it was announced!

Moving away from Daz's cynicism (although I have to agree, the whole thing does seem rather ambiguous), it's good to hear about the continued relationship with the Reporter. As Slartibartfast pointed out in a previous thread, it's good for publicity.

Sorry! Is whether you get #10 discount off a shirt a bigger discussion point than the fact we have secured the services of one of the best players to wear that shirt???

Have to agree with ifa there. A tenner off a new shirt is one thing, but Mr Walshe staying with us for the rest of the season? Top news!!
