Saturday 4th May

DIVISION TWO

1-2 Wolverton Town v Pitstone & Ivinghoe

A not very complimentary report on this one from another Forum:

Wolverton Town 1-2 Pitstone & Ivinghoe
South Midlands Div 2
Attendance: 35
Admission free, progs £1

Poor game, poor ground. In fact, the first half was shocking. It picked up after the break though, with Pitstone missing a penalty & hitting the post before conceding the opening goal when their keeper decided to dive for the ball feet-first. They showed more urgency afterwards and deservedly scored twice.

The main feature of the ground is a fortified social club that looks particularly uninviting from the outside. Entrance is through here, bringing you into a ground with two pitches. The main pitch is nearest, roped off on the near side only, and with two roofless dugouts opposite. I was surprised to see programmes available inside the social club, although no attempt was made to sell them pitch-side.

What a difference to New Bradwell St Peter

BUFC, very satisfactory for our first season back. We have already started planning for next season and have several areas we need to strengthen, but yes over the season we have missed an out and out goalscorer but the lads we have had have given their all considering many of them had no south mids experience.

As for the ground hoppers view .... I am not bothered really, one bad comment amongst the countless praise we have received this season is meaningless. We are constantly making improvements etc but know we have a lot more to do. All I can say is good job he didn't come down when we took the place over two summers ago. The place would not have looked out of place in Beirut.

You can't please them all can you.

My point is how the effect the defection of the backbone of the Club, to Wolverton Town, had on New Bradwell St Peter

or the fact we were at Wolverton before the 20 years at Bradwell in the first place. whats your longest period of service at a club Rhodes ?

Don't expect a reply. I'm still waiting for him to enlighten us as to who should have won the March team of the month instead of Kent Athletic. All the best for next season and I'm sure you'll finish higher up the league based on what I saw from the two and a half games against Risborough.

I just feel that New Bradwell St Peter were left a bit in the lurch that's all which has led to their current plight, it's a crying shame as they're a great Community Club
