Goal clips from the friendly against Hemel Hempstead

Rob,

When uploading videos to the old site we used to take your individual youtube videos, build a playlist with them all in and then embed the playlist into the match report.

WIth the new site we can't embed videos but Pitchero provide a specific way of processing and managing videos.  You can assign videos to matches and any new videos are highlighted on the main page.  This is how it works:

1 - you create the video, maximum size 250MB and in any of the following formats: wmv, mpg, mpeg, mov, avi, flv, mp4, 3gp, m4v, mp3, wma

2 - you upload the video.  Pitchero themselves then re-format it and review it

3 - the video is then sent to the webmaster(s) for review (currently me, Pete Butcher and Jordan)

4 - Once reviewed it will appear on the site

So, do you have all the highlights together in one of the above formats?

If so, can you send it to me (at andrewjdickinson@yahoo.co.uk) and I'll take it from there.  Once I've uploaded the first one and got to know the process I can set you up as a Team Admin so you can upload the video yourself (if you want to).

Thanks,

Andy.

How does pitcheroo compare with youtube when looking at number of views each video gets, ability to tag and ability to monetize videos ?

If you exclude marketing the videos (on the assumption you'll market them the same whether they exist on Pitchero or YouTube) then it comes down to organic views.  I'd guess you'd get more views via Pitchero (i.e. the website) given the audience is targetted.  On youtube however you'll get more random views as videos are presented in tagged searches.  Difficult to say though unless you put the same video on both.

Not aware you can tag Pitchero videos but Pitchero videos and YouTube videos will  get equal prominence when searched for organically in Google.

Not aware you can monetize Pitchero videos.

Why just YouTube?  It's not an either / or situation .. they can go on YouTube AND on the website.

The website gets around 450+ unique visitors a day which equates to around 2,300 page views per day.  All I'm trying to do is give those visitors a better experience by including as much information as possible.  Videos are showcased on the main page and can be attached to a particular match so it would be a shame not to include them.

I've checked the permissions on the various accounts and you only need to be a Club Member to be able to submit stuff for uploading to the site.  You'll need a Pitchero account (the link to "Join the Club" is on the main page).  Join as a Supporter, request Club Member and I'll ok it.  You'll then be able to upload.

Because if I decide to monetise a video I want everyone to view it through Youtube.

OK, that's fair enough.  If you can make some money out of your work then I agree, go for it.

Why is it not possible to publish links to Youtube with the report ?

It is possible, it just looks pants in the report if all we show is a list of links.  We also don't see the video(s) on the main page.  Not to say we can't do it this way though.  Also, Pitchero are reviewing the video process anyway as there's lots of folk who use YouTube and want to embed their videos on their sites.

Separately, we've been sent a video of Tam's goal v HHT.  The author (Herts and Essex football) has already had it approved so it's now with us to upload.  I'd prefer to change the title of the video as it's not right but if we can't I'll just upload it anyway so you can see how these things look.
