Disappointing to kick off with a defeat but I didn't think the performance was too bad.

I was too far away to judge their penalty but those nearer have said that it was soft at best. If Thommo scores ours then we probably go on to win the game but it wasn't to be.

Thought we looked a bit slow to react at times and will need to be a bit sharper tonight against Cray to get off the mark.

I really enjoyed what I saw at times, particularly in the first half we played some lovely football. There were occasions where we looked like we were ball watching, rather than actively moving the play forward, but there will be times this season where we will play like we did and win by three or four goals.

I did have a bit of a moan that we appeared to want to pass the ball sideways rather than take people on, particularly their full-backs in the second half. But some of our crossfield passing and use of space was beautiful.

There was a definte buzz around the ground, one I haven't felt since probably the season we got promoted to the Conference and it was good to see a Manager in the dugout who was getting as emotional and animated as the crowd.
