Scotty the Stag in RBWM annual pancake mascot race

Somehow Scotty the Stag conspired again to be the gallant runner up in the Royal Borough organised Flippin' Pancake Challenge race held in the shopping arcade at Windsor Central Station. Scotty finished second in this event for the second year in a row, again just failing to get home first in the mascot race final. Naturally the event was on Shrove Tuesday and featured teams from local businesses and organisations competing against one another and also a special mascot race. The mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead Andrew Jenner was on hand to dish out the prizes to the delighted winners and certificates to all the plucky participants.

Scotty flipped and dashed his way past the Lego Brick and the East Berks College Square, before losing out to the very flimsy banana from Fairtrade Flippers in the final. Several costly pancake drops effectively ending Scotty's chances as picking pancakes up with a pair of hooves is not easy !!

Despite his obvious disappointment in losing the mascot race, Scotty was delighted with his morning's work given the big stag's charitable motivations. The whole event was actually in aid of RBWM Flood Relief Campaign, which is something close to Scotty's heart as many of his fans have been effected by the recent floods in the Royal Borough. With entry fees, donations and sponsorships a very healthy sum was raised to benefit this excellent local cause. The organiser Paul Roach from RBWM was delighted with Scotty's contribution to a great event and said Scotty was "an unlucky loser". He went on to say that "Scotty will certainly be more than welcome at next year's event and hopefully he can bring along some friends !". February 17th 2015 is an early date for your diary to see Scotty try and finally go one better next year........
