With the news that the new shirts will be rolled out on Saturday I've had a thought. There is a chance that Crawley could join us in the conference next season so there would be two games between teams with the same sponser. Can't imagine that's ever happened before at this level.

Not sure about this level....but it did happen in the Premiership a few years back when Sheff Wed were sponsored by Sanderson ( software, not wallpaper !), and then Sanderson decided to sponsor Southampton also !!

Cheers,

It happened in the SPL when NTL sponsored both Celtic and Rangers. I believe they also had Everton on the books at the same time.

NTL also sponsored Villa at the same time.

Carling now sponsor both Rangers and Celtic, but I think the marketing theory behind this is that half the Glasgow population won't buy your product if you support the 'other side'...

I'm sure it was in the NLP recently about a possible mini cup competition between all Gladwish sponsored teams with about £20k of prize money. Could be very useful if it does go ahead.

And bearing in mind Crawley might be the only decent opposition, easy money too perhaps...?!

£20K would be nice, however we don't need to pick up any long term/minor injuries, playing against donkeys from lesser clubs
