Richard Scudamore's Sexist Comments

Surely he has to go having admitted to the 'inappropriate comments' he made in personal e-mails given to the Sunday Mirror by a former personal secretary:

Karen - Well don't you agree that someone in his distinguished position as Chief Executive of the Premier League should have known better:

The thing is just a throwaway tongue in cheek remark these days, intended as a joke, can get you in hot water can't it whereas in the good old days, prior to Political correctness, nobody would have batted an eyelid, look at Andy Gray and Richard Keyes for example.

The fact that Scudamore intended these jokes to be private means that his comments reveal a truer side to himself, the difference with Gray and Keyes is they thought they could be two naughty schoolboys pushing the boundaries like comics do. Only they're not comics are they? They were paid to do another job and it didn't go down well with their employer who knew that a fair few women at least held the purse strings.

Loosely – The trouble is that Gray and Keyes were two great presenters weren’t they who had us all eating out of the palm of their hands, it was Sky tv’s loss when the pair were unceremoniously shown the door when a simple slap on the wrist would have been sufficed.

Rhodesly - despite your advice which I'm sure Sky listened to they obviously decided that Keyes and Gray were not up to presenting an image that the broadcaster required.

Loosely – Well anything it better than the dull format Sky have now isn’t it. Gray and Keyes made the show their own and were knowledgeable, believable and incredibly enthusiastic, you mentioned the word schoolboys earlier and for once I agree with you as that’s exactly how they came across.

Rhodesly - Perhaps Sky can find enthusiasm to match and a responsibility that viewers regard as important in this day and age.

Loosely - You mean Gary Neville, I don't think so!

Rhodesly - I said find not found already. Christ's sake man, learn to read.

I don’t think so, he drones on and on in his Manchester accent and Man United can do no wrong in his eyes

You couldn't match Gray and Keyes for their enthusiasm though could you
