Big J R
This summer has certainly been a strange year for wildlife, including birds. Three pairs of blue-tits have nested and produced at least two broods each of chicks in our fir tress successfully. No sign of any of them since. Probably spreadfing far and wide House Martins are still hunting over our estate, but do not appear to be actually nesting anywhere close by as they did in the past years. Sparrows and Starlings are on the up and up again at last. AND ALSO....... We now have a slightly tame young badger that visits us every evening/night for peanuts which I put out on our patio, much to the disgust of our totally tame resident huge male neuter cat Toby who watches him with great interest through the patio doors, face to face ! THINGS MUST BE LOOKING UP ON THE NATURAL HISTORY WORLD AT LAST !!
