Which eleven

I like that Idea. He should be given a chance. I mean, come on, we've played Shears upfront, so why not Andy Drury? He's only 19 ( 20 in 9 days time), and so surely we should give him a chance to shine. I'm only 16, and I think that him and Rob.H upfront would make quite a good strikeforce. Better than Rob H and Ben A., Beacuse Ben does absolutely sod all, and it's left to Rob to do all the work.

Surely if we give him a chance as a striker, we can always slot him back in to his midfield role if it doesn't work out.

Personally I don't think that Drury is ready for the first team, he still seems to think that he is playing in the DM League.

For my taste there is too much showboating, and not enough of the simple things, particularlly in our own half. Trying to beat men back there is going to cost us if he doesn't cut it out.

If Drury wasn't ready for the first team, would he have played in 13 games this season. It took him a long time to get back to full fitness after the injury he sustained at Bishop Stortford, and I for one am glad to see him back in the team.

I don't know what game you were watching on saturday sideliner, but all i saw was Drury making forward runs trying to get the ball up to Rob.H. so that we would at least have a chance of scoring. He wasn't the only one at fault, and I saw a lot more players trying to beat men in our own half more than he did. He doesn't show boat, he just does what he has to, to win the ball and get away from his markers. Before anyone says anything YES, I AM DEFENDING HIM BECAUSE HE HAS A GREAT TALENT.

Drury should never change the way he plays. The game, and Gravesend need flair players who can do something a bit different. In fact I overheard someone connected with Exeter saying that he couldn't understand why Drury hadn't started the game. Perhaps he's more appreciated by the opposition. Drury upfront - no - we don't want his confidence torn to shreads as well.

Blimey some good contributions here.

Wilko

Lee

Skins (Gibbs)

Moore

Duku

Owen

Drury

Walshe

McKimm

Pinnock

Haworth

Pretty similar to a lot of peoples choices on here. Although weve lost the last 2 our defence in this partnership has looked good and shouldnt be changed. Shearer will make a great sub and will battle back for his place. Abbey and Evans can fight out the striking position and i hope evans gets his chance soon.

We do need A striker very urgently a finisher, anyone that can poke home from a yard and score on on one from 18 yards.... we need a little **** of a striker.

A few common suggestions here which perhaps could be tried.

Drury - playing him in the centre with owen and walshe on their correct sides would give us great attacking threat and leave Macca to do the things hes better at in the middle ( his attacking abilities are minimal).

Pinnock/Evans - Unless we get a striker (Oli doesnt count yet) its a battle for these two to be the man to nick the cheeky goals from Haworths head.

Duku/Shearer - Duku playing really well at the moment redescovering his lost form of 2 years ago, but Shearer has proved hes the best centre back we have! Difficualt choice with the consistent Moore there also!

McClements - poor sod i rated him! Lee is 'so solid' though!

Andy has it tough as always at the moment.

One things for sure though - IMHO Abbey is not good enough or not suited to our team!

That last statement is the understatement of the century. Why not play Drury in behing the front two, as he scored over 20 goals for Sittingbourne last season. There is no way that Ben Abbey deserves to be at the club, or even playing in the confrence for that matter. Send him to the worst place possible. CANVEY!!!!!!!. Mind you, I don't think even they would want him, as he doesn't know where the goal is.

There is a vast difference between playing for Sittingbourne and playing in the Conference. Just ask Leroy Huggins who was playing at the same level and was patently out of his depth.

Drury has clear ability but he does need to learn to play percentages a bit more. Attempting nutmegs and stepovers in your own final third will get punished at this level.

Expecting him to reproduce Sittingbourne form from the start in the Conference is naive at best. He hurts teams more coming on with 30 minutes left, tired legs and tired brains enable him to produce that good through ball or forceful run.

I agree, throw Drury on for the last thirty minutes and let him run at defenders when they're feeling the pace (the same thoughts I had on Tostao)

In time he may grow into the role, but let's give him a chance.

He looked out of sorts the minute we started on Saturday, unsurprisingly some of the crowd were immediately on his back and he just looked lost for the entire game.

Don't know whether the fella was ill or his mind was elsewhere, but at times, he didn't even look as if he was on this planet let alone the pitch.

Mind you, that's not to say everyone else's concentration was at 100% either!

A quick glance thru' all the teams picked above and I don't think any had Perks in the starting 11 or even on the bench.

Good job we have Andy as Manager and none of you lot !!!!

it was a great all round performance, and lets hope we can put on a show like it for the home crowd on tuesday.

Maybe no wonder Drury was out of sorts if the crowd were on at him from the start, although I thought he played well enough first half. If he hadn't then I'm sure he would have been off instead of Owen. And let's give Ben Abbey a break, he's still scored a couple of important goals this season i.e Morecambe and Exeter.
