Points from last nights game!

I think a few points can be made clear after last nights game.

Both teams proved that you do not need to be in the premiershite to provide an entertaining match.

Southend are indeed in a false position in Division Three are are more than capable of pulling clear of relegation.

Corbett, Smith, Gower and Bramble proved what an asset they are to our club.

The difference between Conference level teams and Division 3 is minimal.

Canvey deserve to be in the Conference and with any luck will be there come May.

Canvey can play route 1 football which is essential against some Conference sides. Top goal from Minton!

Darryl Flahavan has resorted to wearing velcro on his boots and stays rooted to his goaline too often.

Well done in your part in providing a entertaining 90 minutes football for the TV.

Good luck in your quest for conference football and I for one will be hoping your wishes come true this season.

With any luck we will see you in next years LDV competition when of course we will be holders of the cup!

Oh and finally. Who are the best team in South Essex? Southend are!

South Essex? Ahhh, your opinions have changed .

Also - Smith did have a good game last night, but when I saw him when we played at Roots Hall, he did nothing, looked terrible.

Well played lads, hopefully we can be guaranteed to play you next year in the conference .

Well, as we all know at the moment the Route 1 specialists from up the A12 are the best "placed" team in essex!

Jay Smith is still returning from long term pelvic injury but is getting better by the game.

You will be in the conference but we won't! (Hopefully, new manager pending!)

WELL SAID MATE,GREAT ENTERTAINMENT ALL ROUND, THOUGHT SOUTHEND RESPONDED WELL TO GOING ONE DOWN, I THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A BIG TEST FOR THEM IF RECENT FORM WAS ANYTHING TO GO ON. HATE TO ADMIT IT BUT SMITHS WINNING GOAL WAS A WORTHY WINNER OF ANY MATCH.

CANVEY I THOUGHT COULD OF DONE WITH A BIT MORE `BITE` IN MIDFIELD,WINNING MORE OF THE `SECONDS` AFTER WINNING THE INITIAL TACKLE/HEADER AND OF COURSE SHUTTING DOWN RUNNERS WHO WERE ALOWED TO SHOOT FROM RANGE! BUT CAN`T REALLY COMPLAIN WELL DONE LADS! AS FOR THE BEST TEAM IN ESSEX, MAYBE LAST NIGHT, BUT WE`LL HAVE TO SEE COME APRIL.

The better team won on the night, cracking goals from Smith. I thought if Southend had played that well all season they would still have a manager and not be 23rd in the league. Both sides seemed to struggle a bit at the back, but it was a good cup tie, spoiled only by the ref. Over the two games Canvey can be proud of their performances.
