Calling supporters of ROMFORD FC

Apologies for posting this on the Hornchurch forum - it should really be on the Romford forum, but as it is a members-only forum, I cannot access their forum.

We have a complete set of programmes for season 1996-97 - 81 programmes in total.

This is the only season when they played under the name of Collier Row & Romford, and is an ideal present for any Romford supporter who collects their programmes.

There are 46 home programmes and 35 away programmes, and all are in mint condition. It includes their cup runs in both the FA Cup and the FA Vase, and all the pre-season friendlies where programmes were issued. Many of the programmes also include match reports from the local newspaper.

If any Romford supporter is interested, they are on sale to the highest bidder, with the minimum bid set at £50.

Please contact me on- or off-list if you are interested, or call in at the club shop at the Bridge.

If any Romford supporter reads this, and is not interested in programmes, I would be grateful if they can let anyone know who might be interested.

I will put your post on our forum later. £50 seems very steep though as I gave my complete collection to the club this year and it raised about £100 for over a 1000 programs dating from 1959.

Thanks Alan - I thought the asking price of £50 was reasonable, as it is a complete mint set of programmes, plus press cuttings for almost all of the matches, and it was the only season they played under the name of Collier Row & Romford.

I am surprised that your collection only raised £100 for the club, though I note that usually the only programmes that sell quickly are from the Isthmian League era (i.e. pre-1960).

Normally I would put them on sale in the club shop at 50p each, but I thought the chance of anyone getting a complete season's programmes might be attractive to someone.
