Aveley have announced the signing of Steve Carvell from Ryman League Division One North rivals Barkingside.

Formerly with Brentwood Town and Exeter City, Carvell has made nineteen appearances for Barkingside this season and has scored an impressive seven goals from midfield.

He can also play as a winger but more importantly a number ten role which The Millers have lacked in the past few games.

Manager Justin Gardner expressed his delight with his new addition to the squad as he said: "Steven Carvell is someone I've admired for a while. He's a young, talented, hungry player, who has an eye for goal.

"He's the type of player that Aveley fans should be delighted about, he has so much ambition. He's had a good learning curve at Barkingside, but now I hope with Aveley we can take him to that next level of football."
