I know its a long post for a forum but for those not on the other social media sites - Margate Youth Under 11's had another good win this Sunday away to Faversham (well its a Margate Team in action!)

Faversham vs. Margate under 11s

Margate continued their unbeaten start to 2015 with a 1-2 win over Faversham.

Margate started brightly and controlled the early part of the first half but it was a Faversham counter attack against the run of play that nearly broke the deadlock, The Faversham winger cut in from the left flank and hit a beauty towards the top corner; luckily Frankie was there to claw the ball away with a full stretch dive- good save 0-0.
The half continued with constant Margate pressure which eventually led to the opening goal - a fierce tackle by Jack freed the ball to Tommy who beat two players then rolled it to Reece; Reece shifted his feet and curled the ball in the bottom corner- goal of the game 0-1.
The excellent Michael and Arthur were dominant in defence leaving Faversham nothing but long shots.
Another bout of Margate pressure let to the second goal, a mazy Jake run resulted in a corner which Jake fed short to Jack, a quick through ball left Grant one on one and he made no mistake poking the ball into the goal 0-2.
Chances came with both Grant and Jake just failing to increase Margate's advantage.
Whistle goes for half time 0-2
Half time changes with the Margate skipper Joe being replaced by Paul and Tommy being rested to introduce Cameron.
Second half begins- this half was more even but again Margate had several chances to score with Cameron just failing to force the best effort across the line.
However Faversham kept pushing and with 10 minutes to go scored to reduce the deficit to 1-2, a mid box scrabble and Margate fail to clear leaving the Faversham striker to shoot low, Frankie pushed it against a post but just failed to keep it out.

The rest of the half went by with chances for both teams but no change to the score line 1-2.
Final whistle goes and Margate continue their impressive start to 2015 with their third win on the bounce.
