Retford United have held an emergency meeting this week in their first steps to stabilise the club after a dramatic few days at the Jones

Brackley Town manager Jon Brady admits his side are back in the 'dog-fight' ahead of Saturday's tough trip to high-flying Barrow.

Brady saw Saints slip to a successive Vanarama Conference North defeat at St James Park where Danny Crow completed a fine comeback for Lowestoft Town as they won 3-2 to swap places with their hosts.

It will be a long journey home for Saints if they slip to a third straight defeat which would surely see them pulled back into the relegation fight. Barrow have boosted their title push by signing experienced winger Andy Haworth on-loan from Sky Bet League Two side Cheltenham Town for the remainder of the season.

Brady acknowledged the hard road ahead and said: "We are back in the dog-fight. We were 2-0 up and with 20 minutes to play and we had enough on the pitch to manage the game and see it out but we did not do it.

"Fair credit to Lowestoft who deserved their win, they pressed forward and took the game to us.

"Even though we were ahead they had a good tempo and lots of energy and pressed to win the game. That was immensely frustrating but these are harsh lessons that have to be learned."
