Molesey v Epsom is off.

May I see the refs postponement form?

Strange comment, Chris. Any reason for this?

Apologies for the "fool" comment Krooner.

I always try to be fair in comments about games and honest in my appraisal of Windsor's performances. I totally appreciate that every team suffers in the same way but I think it is entirely relevant to mention aspects which I believe have impacted on our performance whether that is a pitch or absent players etc. or indeed the other team just being better than us on the day - maybe they come over to some as excuses but they really aren't.

And honestly, we DO NOT have a playing budget. The money goes on the pitch and on the upkeep of the infrastructure at a Stag Meadow - thousands spent 2 years ago on the surfacing leading up to and around the changing rooms, on the recent cleaning of pigeon crap from the stand, and cleaning the terraces all around the ground. And I probably only know the half of it...

One day we'll get out of the CCL but until we do I will continue to respect all other teams and clubs in the league and what all the volunteers at those clubs do that ends up providing me with my weekly / twice weekly football fix - even if I don't particularly enjoy some of the (winning) football served up. ;)

Windsor were terrible today. The pitch didn't suit us of course but dear oh dear we never looked like scoring. Very young team with our 2 most experienced players not in the squad. Men against boys to be honest.

Played 2nd half with a 16 year old playing up front who is still very green and not a physical presence. In fact finished with 5 teenagers and 10 men due to an injury with all subs on from about 80 mins.

Well done Frimmers who looked solid and, as suggested last week, should pick up a good few more points before the season is finished if they stay together.

Finished with 5 teenagers? Does that include both side?

I am sure we could watch a game and come to differing conclusions over it. We're talking matters of opinion, rather than fact, after all. It would be a boring world where everyone had the same opinions.

Hopefully, we can agree that sometimes we might type things and then wish we hadn't, because it causes a reaction justified or not. A crass comment was made me by a ' stalwart' of these shores merely because I bought a programme and swelled the hosts' income by doing so. My opinion of this at the time was sadness that anyone was such a billy no mates as to make such a comment, but, after a night's sleep, I now see it as a failed attempt to be funny and irrelevant.

Most here contribute to football at this level in some way...even if it's just paying at the gate. Hopefully we can continue to agree to differ like adults rather than children...

A facetious throwaway comment regarding our home game v Molesey being postponed. Nothing to see here!

Ashford Town 3 Horley Town 3

A good performence today If only we could defend. Two nil up at half time thanks to Ashleigh. Ashford got it back to two one then Ashleigh collected his hatrick for us to go three one up. Next Ashford got a penalty, then they had a player sent of for another terrible tackle on Ashley (The first one should have been red). Then in injury time a long rang free kick (Cross) flew into the top corner to make it three three at the final whistle.

Another very good referee today

If any town or village has lost your village Idiot they are all at Ashford Town FC in the crowd!

Have to agree about the Ashford crowd. We had a similar situation there.

By the way, your leading scorers name is Ashley! :)

There was a remark on Twitter from one of the Molesey players about his surprise on the postponement as he had been down there not long ago.

However, I'm sure Molesey would have tried to get the game on if it were at all possible as they are so far behind on fixtures that it could seriously hurt their promotion aspirations at this rate.

I went to St Ives Town instead. Going to the same places on a regular basis can get a bit dull and it's always nice to see other places and see if there is something they are doing that might be worth taking on too. A basic but old school ground worth a visit if you are ever in the area (Cambridgeshire). The pitch reminded me of Raynes Park though. The refs must be more lenient up there on postponements :) :)

I spoke to Steve Webb, the Molesey manager, on the morning of our game at with The Moles at 8.26am and explained it was just the one goal area that was the problem. The match referee was asked to inspect early as we were pretty sure we couldn't play, there being insufficient time to dry out and unfavourable weather throughout the week. Molesey FC asked a question to the league over the timing of the postponement which was all above board. Move on.

Chris, yes, we did speak that morning. I must admit it was a bit earlier that I would have expected but if it's off it's off, so I just accepted it and it gave me loads of time to organise training and the rest of my day. I've got no idea about anyone questioning the league, but it certainly was not me.

E&E I assume you are referring to our game Saturday when you mention twitter. I don't do twitter but can only assume that one of our lads who was helping out Saturday morning expressed his views after he had heard it was off. I was expecting the game to go ahead from what I had been told, but did not see the pitch so cannot comment.

Problem is getting the timing/decision right. Do it early and you get questioned as to why you didn't wait, which is something that has come up regularly on this forum. Leave it late or don't bother at all and get grief if it gets called off by the match referee.

For the recent Ashford game we had two inspections and the pitch was passed - it wasn't great - so we went ahead. The match referee was made aware of the situation but when he arrived (late) he deemed the pitch unplayable and called the game off. Ashford did make comments about why the game wasn't called off by the referee who inspected it but we could do nothing about it. Once passed we could not then call the game off.

We try and get every game on, regardless of any player availability or form, as the club is reliant on the income we get from home first team games. February was a complete washout for us.

Tomorrow we hopefully host Badshot Lea in the Surrey cup, and they already know that Thursday has been pencilled in should the game not go ahead, but we are hopeful that it will.

Anyway, sorry Chris if someone questioned you but, as you said, we just move on.

Look forward to seeing you both on a Wednesday in April.

Cheers.
