FF News
Vanarama Conference club Forest Green Rovers have confirmed that defender Tom Bender has joined on a contract until the end of the season. The Wales under-21 international has been training with Rovers in the past few weeks and has now been added to the first-team squad. He has spent the majority of this season playing for league rivals Dartford, but left the Kent outfit last month. The 22-year-old started his career at Colchester United where he made his debut when just 16 years old in a League One match against Hartlepool United. Loan spells at Accrington Stanley and Chelmsford City followed, while he moved to Championship outfit Millwall on a one-year contract in March 2013. He spent time on loan at Welling United last season, and linked up with Dartford in the summer where he made sixteen league appearances, including two appearances in the FA Cup this season. Despite being born in England, he has represented Wales in various different age groups, including their under-21’s squad.
