I want my licence money back!

Recommended Posts

Now that the only thing worth watching on the BBC has been ditched, can I now get my licence fee back?

As I don't see any entertainment value in :- x list celebs dancing, old people selling off their antiques, people doing DIY to improve their house price, people who cant sing trying to wake up the British brain dead, a bunch of cockneys arguing and shouting, sports "highlights" hours after other channels have shown them live, quiz shows that have to have the correct ethnic and gender quotas so that it ticks the PC box, trying to raise money by bolting the word "Comic" in-front of naff shows because it is for "charity", watching Fiona Bruce make a major drama out of a lost cat, and news that has such a blatant political slant on it that it should be called propaganda!

So why do I have to give money to the BBC for this?

I suppose it balances out the over priced politically opposite position of the Australian broadcaster.

No you can't have you money back, unless you get rid of your TV but I can't help but think it must be one of the last nails in the Public Funded BBC coffin.

Sold to 215 countries, watched by 350 million people worldwide it will be a huge loss commercially to the corporation and as you say programme quality elsewhere on the channels is so poor that MPs must be looking to put a committee on the case that will come up with a decision sometime during the 2030s.

.....  and Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended for a week for (allegedly) punching one of his shows producers.  No 'Top-Gear' this Sunday !

You couldn't make it up, could you ?

I saw on the tv last night that even David Cameron has suggested that Clarkson should get his job back and 'Top Gear' be re-instated immediately.

That just about sums our so-called PM up.

I even received a tweet this morning asking me to sign a "Re-Instate Clarkson" petition.

Needless to say, I gave it short shrift !!

Now the whole truth is in the public domain, Clarkson didn't have a leg to stand on.

Returns to hotel after filming and demands steak and chips.  He's told by one of the shows production staff that the hotel kitchen has closed.

Clarkson gets the right hump and punches the said production staff member in the mouth, causing him to require A & E treatment.  At best, ABH  -  At worst GBH.

Assualt in the workplace is gross-misconduction and instant dismissal is the only recourse.

Incidently, I heard today that the gallant boys in blue are now investigating the whole incident  !!

Move over Rolf Harris  -  You might have a BBC mate for that spare bunk in your cell !!

 :o

Can anybody advise please, my daughter Camilla has recently realised that she has been paying a tv licence for the last 2-3 years for a property she has long since moved out of, she failed to notice it on her bank statements and is sure she cancelled it at the time of moving, is there any way she is able to obtain a refund of around £400, I gather she has contacted tv licensing but unsurprisingly they're not interested. Thanks in advance.

If TV licensing are being awkward, I would suggest a visit to her local C.A.B.

I've always found them very helpful regarding those sort of matter.

Thanks, that's helpful, the only problem is Camilla is living in Madrid at the moment with her boyfriend but I might take the fight up for her

Yes Rhodesly, good luck with that, take up the fight. For your daughter, of course it is.

The way you fought like a man possessed to prove the saintly Amanda Knox innocent makes me feel almost sorry for the BBC. Nice to see you have yet another project in your pursuit of truth and justice.

Yay verily, the Knight of Saint Amanda shall wield the Sword of Truth, Justice and There's No Smoke Without Fire in his quest to right this foul injustice!

Loosely - Well wouldn't you do the same for your daughter or son, if you had one that is, when members talk about their kids on here you must wish you had one to call your own, it must be tough to never be called dad.

Rhodesly - just come clean for once would you? Of course it isn't your daughter you are appealing on behalf of but yourself. You've never put yourself out once for your children and you are notoriously poor at managing your own money in favour of spending any spare on male prostitutes, the rougher the better if all is to be believed. I dread to think what your poor children feel, after all you never even gave them your name did you?
