FF News
Macclesfield Town boss John Askey has praised tomorrow's opponents Bristol Rovers for the way they have adapted to life in the Vanarama Conference this season. Rovers come in to the game tomorrow with a very realistic chance of an immediate return to League Two, just 12 months after suffering an unexpected relegation last term. Askey says that Rovers deserve praise for their success this term. But he says the weight of expectation on tomorrow's visitors could play a part in the closing weeks of the season. He explained to Silkmen Player: " Tomorrow obviously going to be one of the biggest challenges that we face this season. Bristol Rovers are a big club with considerable resources. They have shown in the last few months that they have adapted to the league and have put together a great run of form. "They were big favourites to gain promotion at the start of the season and so far they have lived up to those expectations after a tough start to life in the Conference. There is obviously a great deal of pressure on them to go straight up and when it gets down to the final few games it will only get worse, where as we have nothing to lose and our only expectation was to try and say in the league."
