Blues lose out to 10 man Kingstonian

Recommended Posts

The blues played against a ten man Kingstonian for about an hour. And ended up loosing 2-Nil.

You could never have guessed that we had the extra man. with the exception to a good ten minute spell in the 2nd half spurred on by the supporters lifting the team. But it was all a bit to late.

This was our 3rd loss at home during March

I'm afraid we can't blame the ref for this one folks.

On The Brightside

The talk in the clubhouse at the end of last season was,

We would be happy with mid table this year, but a chance of a play off spot would be nice.

As long as we avoid looking at relegation that will do.

If we could just keep a set of players for a while things might change.

So here we are almost a year later.

Mid table (ish)

Still a (very very slim) chance of getting in the play off's (positive thoughts folks)

Relegation fears GONE

I'm not going to mention the keeping of players. (don't want Luther on my case lol)

We ARE in a cup run.

I know there is a lot of stuff happening which is not great but we Supporters/Spectators must get behind the players.

Thought they played well and their forwards gave us real problems. Did not really see the sending off but the reaction of their supporters at half time was poor. We tried hard but at times could have passed rather than punted the ball forward. Overall they derserved to win, now must concentrate on winning the cup and having a good run in and show our potential which on the day can beat most teams in the league.

Fully agree with Brightside. We are where we most of us expected. Not what most of us wanted but expect, noting the budgets the club play within.

Craig deserves credit for getting us to a cup final and keeping us pushing for play offs till the end of March. I don't always agree with his tactics but he is the manager and never shies away from criticism and always gets the best out of a team during the season, hence another respectable position is pending this year.

As we the fans have been told on numerous occasions we get what we pay for. The club has to be self funding and thus player budget is reflected by what the club brings in through the turnstiles and by way of commercial and cup runs. I have no disagreement with that fact and unlike some I appreciate how tough it must be to make ends meet. I do however honestly believe there is far more revenue to attract and fund raising which can be done to push our budget up but recent splits within the club need to be tackled from the top. We need to regroup during the close season or personally think we will be looking at a far tougher season next season even with Craig squeezing every penny out of the budget.

I still think we have enough quality in the squad to be higher then we are, Kingstonian weren't a good team, we just made it easy for them. When you see how we can play when we beat teams like Met Police 3-0 and when we thrashed Enfield it does confuse me how we can be so poor at times, I know we can't win them all, but as a fan only looking at the on the field side of things we don't want to be playing in the Ryman League forever, we should aspire to play at the highest level possible
