FF News
Basingstoke Town FC will hold a minute’s applause prior to tomorrow’s kick-off at home to Havant for former player Ken Hargreaves, who died recently, aged 77. Ken or Kenny was born in the little Kent Village of Northbourne on the 31st December 1937. He moved to Basingstoke when he got married to his wife Sandy, in 1966. Ken played semi professional football for Snowdon Colliery, while living in Kent, and Basingstoke Town Football Club, once he moved to the area. He also had a trial for Charlton Athletic FC when he was younger, playing for their reserves against Arsenal. He was offered a contract but turned them down as it would mean giving up his time with his friends and family.
