Horley Town 1 Badshot Lea 0

Grea result for Town tonight pushing them well up the League. A good first half for Town with several good chances to score.

Ryan Eaton scored for Town after 12 minutes of the second half. Badshot Lea through everything at us but the defence held strong and keeper George Hyde pulled off several top class save to keep another clean sheet and a great victory aginst a top side.

Last Home Game Saturday Kick Off 3pm vs Farnham Town.

Farnham Town 1-7 Colliers Wood United (Combined Counties Premier)

Played at The Memorial Ground in Farnham .. home colours of “all claret” .. visitors were in their light blue shirts and black shorts

Att – around 35 (h/c) .. with 1 outside on the path, looking through the south side chain link fencing .. £6 your entry .. £1 prog .. and £1 the cuppa.

Well my thanks to everyone for making up for Binfield's 0-0 last night .. eight goals are never easy to come by .. unless of course you went to Leverstock Green tonight !! wink.gif

The funny thing was .. Farnham's goal was probably the best of the lot, just after the break .. a 25 yarder from the right side of the box, skimming off underside of bar and far post into the corner netting .. which at that time brought the score back to 1-2 .. Wood having taken an early lead within five minutes and then another strike just before the break .. but what happen after Town’s goal was just clinical .. as break after break down the flanks .. squaring crosses .. belting ball after ball towards goal .. some going wide but many hitting their target .. especially around 62 mins .. 65 .. 72 .. 81 and 88 .. when we all agreed it had become a bit one sided .. even if The Town had their odd chance .. yes a very impressive display by the youngsters from the Wibbundune .. who should of enjoyed their return trip up the A31 and A3 this evening .. leaving behind a very much deflated Farnham .. unhappy with a few officials decisions and know doubt disappointed to end their home fixtures this season on such a sad note.
Which could also be said of tonight’s setting .. it indeed needs some love and attention .. in fact a lot .. with it’s variety of structures, undulations, nooks and crannies .. housing a variety of facilities .. which for those who know the layout may well concur. The Changing rooms are in the Hall to the west, outside the ground .. I couldn’t quite work out the parking (permits and clamping signs pop up everywhere) .. the players had to pass through the turnstile area, within temporary barriers, out on to a flat and now dusty pitch for this time of year. The social Clubhouse was cosy and dealt with the food and drinks .. located in the opposite corner of the site, where the original Mead Lane car park is to be found .. it’s a bit of a trek but at least you get to walk around the top end and see an old stand with history and a selection of broken seats .. although your alternative is within the side cover offering dusty timber planks, where some souls took their place to sit a bit closer to the sidelines, located just along from the dug outs. And if you throw in the overgrown grass, weeds, litter not cleared, rustic solid timber railings around the pitch .. with no access to the south end goal (apart from that lonely onlooker standing on the footpath outside) .. then you pretty much have it .. yes plenty of character .. some charm .. but a need for someone with deep pockets to join the dedicated Club members .. I hope it’s not too long for them to wait .. because the Club needs a pick me up after this one tonight .. unsure.gif
