Ealing Town

Interesting decision here as Kent Athletic lost twice to Ealing so would not lose any points if record was expunged. So title would not be won, although Hale Leys could re-win the title tonight ha ha.

if games awarded, Brimsdown and New Bradwell would benefit in race for 2nd chasing Kent Athletic.

Nothing seems to be official yet, but assuming all this ends with Ealing's games simply being wiped, by my calculations it would mean neither NBSP or Brimsdown could catch Kents in second. Pitstone & Ivinghoe would be perhaps the biggest losers: they beat Ealing 5-0 and, just last Saturday, 6-0.

True, but section 13.9 of the league handbook says as follows:

"A Club which for any reason ceases to operate at any time during the Playing Season may have its playing record expunged, and any monies due to them from the Company shall be forfeited. From the date of the withdrawal no further payment shall become due to them. From the date of the withdrawal, that Club shall cease to be a member of the Company."

Obviously "may" is a key word there, but it does point in the direction of wiping Ealing's record as a matter of normal policy in such circumstances.

For completeness' sake, here's the text of 8.6:

"Where a match has been postponed for any reason, The Competition Fixtures Officer shall determine the new date.

"Any Club without just cause failing to fulfil an engagement to play a Competition match on the appointed date shall for each offence be liable to expulsion from the Competition and/or such other disciplinary action the Board may determine, including the deduction of up to a maximum of three points from the offending Club’s record, any expenses incurred by their opponents, and a fine.

"In the event of a Club being in breach of the previous paragraph of this Rule then the Board may award points to the Club not at fault as if the match had been played and the League table shall reflect the position as if the match had been played with the result awarded by the Board."

If I understand correctly, the difference between the circumstances in 8.6 and 13.9 seems to be that 8.6 is about a club getting kicked out for failing to fulfill fixtures and 13.9 is about a club withdrawing.
