Interesting comments - today's Gravesend Reporter?

Recommended Posts

''We are in a situation where we have too many players.'' revealed Ford. ''I'll be trying to get rid of some.''

''The players have given me everything but it is a sad fact of football that sometimes players have got their levels and you saw that against Scarborough last Saturday that some of them are not good enough.''

''I may have to be ruthless and get rid of players who have given everything for us over the years but that is the way it is.''

''I've got some money now and it's going to be difficult. All the better players are on contract and you may have to pay money for them or you have to wait until they become free agents in the summer.''

''However, I know that we need to stay in the Conference and those are decisions that I need to make.''

Strong words - interesting times ahead?

I find this thread quite strange as the players have aquited themselves very well playing the top teams but have not faired so well against the lesser sides

this suggests nto me that it might be somethinwrong with the way these matches are approched by the whole set up from the manager down to the ball boy,s perhaps somebody can do a study (one of you youngsters on a degree course as part of a thesis) then we get a well motivated team at all times playing the right tatics for each given occasion and one of you gets a degree

and a future pratice as a sports phsycologistearning lots of dosh to invest in G& N and on that note i think i better go back to the ward before they miss me

I have a feeling this might also be a phsychological trick by Fordy with the Notts County game ahead of us. He might be trying to motivate some of the usually average players into putting in some top quality performances to keep their place in the squad. Or... what I've just said could all be a load of tosh and he's just got exceedingly bad timing. <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I have to agree with the observation that if anything it's some of the newer additions to the squad that haven't looked up to it,certainly Owen,McKimm and Duku(who may be regaining some of his form )have looked OK,doesn't leave many more long serving players,so it's a rather puzzling statement, perhaps there is more to it.

Super Daz said:Diver Barnes is available from Doncaster!

We'd never get him - he only plays for clubs 'oooop north'?

Guaranteed goals if you ask me - Tamworth are hot on his heels for his signature.....

How about Tristram Whitman? He used to play for Doncaster too, but has just been released by Dagenham, so he shouldn't mind playing for another club in the south.
