Wow. Did not see that happening.

I thought although we didn't get the points total we wanted we were competitive enough on the pitch to keep us in the league.

Why on earth would clean slate want to be in div 1 given how out of depth they were? League been threatening Stony for years, I can't see it happening.

Seriously Karen (or anyone from the league) can someone give a definitive answer on this please. I would say that with the ground grading amnesty, finishing position and teams leaving div 1, it would be highly unlikely but confirmation would be useful as these rumours are rife at the moment around the area which is really bad for stability.

Personally it would be annoying to see all the hard work we put in last season wasted.. It would be gutting for all players involved as they competed in nearly every game and missed out on allot more points by small margins...

The players deserve to be in the league..

I am not sure what the ground grading issues could be, but there are 2 things which may be an issue;

Distance from changing room to pitch - if that's the case, goodbye to Codicote & Hatfield too.

Size of changing rooms - really not an issue, we played at Hemel v London Lions and the changing rooms were smaller and they're in the Conference South.

Floodlights? - not played there in the evening but if that's an issue then we should probably say goodbye to Bush Hill and potentially too as the lights there are horrendous.

No changing facilities for female officials? Again, not sure on this one but didn't see a female official at a game all season and we had nearly 60 games. If this was an issue I am sure that the league could show some common sense when it comes to appointment of officials- unless there is to be a huge influx of female officials over the summer.

If it is true and it is facility related, I would argue that the league need to take a pragmatic view. I would argue that if you were to stick to the letter of the law when it comes to ground grading you could remove a large percentage of teams from the league. I wonder how many actual complaints there has been about Stonys facilities or ground this season. The FA are always banging on about creating an 'inclusive' environment, and yet they would rather a competitive league have fewer teams in it because there isn't a barrier around part of the pitch or something ridiculous like that. Open your eyes....if teams were seeing gates of 1000 you may have a point, until then....you don't

Whilst we can argue the merits of the ground grading requirments, this isn't a new issue and the requirements are unlikely to change. It was pretty clear at the AGM that the league were told by the FA they could no longer allow clubs without the required ground grading by 31/03 to remain at Step 6.

So if there is an amnesty then the FA have changed stance if not the league's hands are tied.

The FA, from what I can understand, have changed their stance in that they have said the ground grading requirements are still in place but with the agreement of the league's clubs, an amnesty can be given under the end of the 2016/17 season. That is my understanding anyway and if the clubs in the league don't want a div 1 with about 13 teams (or more with extra ground share sides like clean slate placed in the division) I suggest an acceptance would be a reasonable move.

If there is no lee way then loads of Step 6 leagues would not run, because most do not have floodlights. I guess this is only a rumour. The league normally tell clubs if they do not meet the ground grading. Contact Bill Scholes he will know.

We have had to play at Lpndon Tigers in the league where the facilities are appalling and they play in the Premier Division.

When I was at New Bradwell and were in Division one we got told that we had to make some changes to meet the gradings or we would be relegated, We had to double the amount of seats in the stand although no-one really sat down in it and even if they did their were enough seats for the amount of spectators we got. We also had to install a pay box even though we did not change for admittance.
