Former Bishop`s Stortford assistant-manager Paul Joynes has returned to the ProKit UK Stadium as the Vanarama Conference South club’s chief scout.

Long-term Stortford fans will need no introduction to Joynes, who was assistant-manager when Martin Hayes was in charge, and he was also number two to Hayes during his spell as Dover Athletic boss.

His playing career included stints at Purfleet (now Thurrock), Tilbury, Billericay Town, Concord Rangers, Aveley and Romford, where he was also player-manager.

He then managed Tilbury and Aveley before linking up with the Blues in 2005.

Joynes will scout future opponents for manager Rod Stringer as well as looking at possible signings for the Blues.
