FF News
Harrogate Railway Athletic's new manager Lee Ashforth has put the finishing touches to his management team less than a week after taking charge of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club. Ashforth, installed at Station View last Wednesday after stepping up from assistant manager to succeed Billy Miller, has appointed UEFA B coach Simon Wood has his own number two and Steve Grime in a newly created role of head of development. Wood brings a wealth of experience at Evo-Stik NPL level and will continue to play for Ashforth's First Division North side when required. Ironically, during a short interim spell as manager of Northern Counties East League side Liversedge, he signed Ashforth and the pair have been friends since. Grime is a UEFA B coach who managed the club's reserves last season and has worked at both Manchester City and Leeds United. He is currently a full-time coach at the Leeds-based academy IAFE and club officials say he will combine his first-team responsibilities with creating and enhancing links between all age groups at the club and Ashforth's first team squad. Miller was number two to Miller for three years before he left to take over at Northern Counties East League outfit Tadcaster Albion.
