We started our second season as AFC Hornchurch in Ryman One North,we do the same this season, difference is that 9 years ago it was as champions of the Essex Senior League and this coming season it's relegated from the Ryman Premier League.

So what's changed?

Gone are the previous owners,in and have been for a while are the current owners and I'm sure you'll all agree while on the pitch it hasn't always gone our way,off it we seem to be a more stable club and one that can handle the odd relegation.

Our fan base has shrunk somewhat but so has many clubs, and ours is noticeable the last season or two when on the pitch we may not have been at our best, but 9 years ago it was high due to the comeradery shown by many fans when we originally went bust but within 2-3 seasons they gradually drifted off back to the premier league or shopping on Saturdays etc.

Now we have a fan base of around 200 which is still double what we had in the late 90s and for years before then so it seems we are still doing well in those stakes.

We seem to have a good youth system which we didn't have before, although ok the one pre 2005 was very good it was somewhat false in terms of we attracted higher quality local players because I suppose many parents believed the club would get football league status but overall youth football was overlooked.

We have a supporters association which we daren't gave bank then.

We can take a knock or two,we've been through the mill the last decade or so,believed we could become a league club, lost that dream, fought our way back, nearly had it taken away again and built the club up again, but we're still here and this season promises to be quite an exciting one,we look to have the best strike force in the league with many Ryman prem standard and experienced players and some exciting away days and new grounds for some to visit, after plenty of negativity from us and others which is obvious after a bad season,I'm quite excited about the future and this next season and think this club can go again and become a big name in non league circles but due to our own hard work and endeavour
