Pre-season so far-what do we think ?

seems a pretty good pre-season to me so far.

given that the club were2/3 weeks behind the other national south teams, i reckon that TB and SC have excelled in getting the squad assembled as they have.

i know little of most of the players-so can only comment once seen, but certainly pedigree looks good on paper, and for our first season back-i reckon the experience will count to the good.

I also like the fact that nearly all the signings are 6 foot or thereabouits, and physicality will count.

also most of these players are used to 3/4 hour return journeys on saturday/tuesdayn nights which takes a different type of person to be ok with ,as opposed to the 2 hour trips in the ryman.

completely different ball game in national south-and nothing like the league it was 11 years ago when we were last here.

i'd almost say that national south today is almost equivalent of conference premier 11 years ago-its serious and expensive stuff.

loks a fairly good squad to me though-and again, i reckon TB has excelled to get it together at this stage.

others are similarly strong though-so not saying its a top 5 squad-but certainly a top half squad ,and maybe even better-we will find out soon.

meant to add that whilst i won't be there myself ,i like the fact that the club are introducing the squad to the supporters by way of a public training session on margate sands next sunday.hopefully stimulate

a bit of interest from a few others as opposed to just the regular supporters.

maybe a tad disappointed that there has not been a bit more off pitch news-particularly with regards to any -albeit temporary -ground improvements-no matter how small.i suppose i am a bit disappointed in particular, that the players are not getting better and bigger-again temporary- changing rooms-i thought they were minimally worthy of that.

..not expecting any significant ground development for at least another 24 months-but a few smaller 'upgrades' may have gone down well as we step up a gear to national league south ?
