You may be interested in reading about the AGM, held earlier today and the presentations.  A precis has been placed on the official web site which is reproduced here:

The League held its 37th AGM and Presentation Day on Sunday 28 June at Imber Court.

With no changes of officer and the constitution having been decided beforehand, the meeting proceeded reasonably smoothly.  There was though a complete change to the four club reps who sit on the Management Committee and the following were “sworn in” to serve for a maximum of two seasons:  Chris Gay (Chertsey Town), Dave Brown (Hanworth Villa), Brian Barry (Bedfont & Feltham) and Trevor Wenden (Sheerwater).

The honours were handed out by League President Ken Huckle and Chairman Chris Conlon, the biggest cheer being reserved for Molesey, Premier Division champions.  The non-playing awards were won as follows:  Epsom & Ewell won the “Premier Division Programme of the Year”, it being their second win in three seasons.  The League has some excellent programmes and it was a close affair.  It was a similar situation in Division One, where Sheerwater won the “Division One Programme of the Season” for the first time.

The “Best Administered Club” Awards in the two divisions went to Colliers Wood United and CB Hounslow United respectively.

The Fair Play Awards, which carry not only a monetary award, but also a set of rain jackets, went to Bedfont Sports, who also won this trophy last season, and Cobham, who, despite their upheavals during the season, did not incur a single dismissal sending off in a CCL match throughout the campaign.

It was also good to see the League’s top scorer Staforde Palmer, of Molesey, also present, and he was presented with his trophy.  Leading scorer in Division One was Daniel Mclaughlin of Chessington & Hook, who was not present but his award was collected by club chairman Graham Ellis.

The new clubs were welcomed to the League and best wishes extended to the three leaving the League, namely Molesey (promoted to Step 4), AFC Croydon Athletic (promoted to Step 5 but switched to the Southern Counties East League) and Alton Town (switched back to the Wessex League).  The League Chairman expressed the League’s disappointment at losing AFC Croydon, who are believed to be the first club due to be internally promoted from Step 6, only to be moved to another league.

The League thanks Imber Court for hosting the meeting and supplying the buffet but more thought will be given to when this meeting should be held in future years.  It was switched to a weekend date due to the difficulty of evening travel in the rush hour but on a warm summer’s day, traffic was just as bad on Sunday as in the week with a number of delegates arriving late.

Pre-season matches will doubtless start very soon whilst the annual fixture list is due to be issued on 26 July, as, like other Step 5 competitions, we have to wait for fixtures at higher levels to be issued, due to ground sharing situations.  The draws were made for the opening two rounds of the Cherry Red Records Premier Cup and the RPM Records Division One Challenge Cup.
