Farnborough FC

Hi Guys,

Seems ages ago since I was on the forum, but please see below when of the comments on the Farnborough Fans Forum in regards to why the crowds have deserted Cherrywood Road in recent years

"There are multiple reasons - but it would be easy to kill two birds with one stone. Ditch Spencer - firstly that would make a lot of people happier. I know he manges for free, etc, but a young hungry Combined Counties League manager could probably do better. I reckon that the football would improve and that would then bring back some of the fans who just want to watch a local team and don't carw about the politics."

As the poster of this stated "a young hungry Combined Counties League Manager", who would be the ideal CCL manager and assistant for this role, it's just for fun, but just wondered what you guys think?

According to another site, it appears Farnborough are in the Ryman, but face a points deduction.

You couldn't make it up, could you ??

I've taken the liberty of taking this from another footy site.

"£150K Bond to be paid to Ryman League to allow Farnborough to start season, to be covered by an (as yet) un-named new consortium that have appeared at the last minute to buy the club."

I believe this was due to an emergency meeting held on the 23rd.

People on the 'other site' are also wondering.  As of this morning, there hasn't been any more info.

Could be the same family / guys that wanted it for a lot more but Spence said he would have to be manager as part of the deal couple of friends of mine from way back

But then again it may not be

Now, on the 'other site', it said that that the NLP is quoting that the bond as only £30k, but ALL games must be completed.

Still a lot of dosh, though !

I wonder if they will be allowed to get away with not paying 100% on the CVA.  If so that is frankly a disgrace

Farnborough have now appealed against the bond setting, and consequently cancelled a forthcoming friendly....

The plot thickens, AND without the aid of 'Bisto'  !!

Whatever, Jeff.

IMHO, they are doomed and it looks like Day will disappear into night !!

Personally, having read up on other forums, they haven't got a proverbial cats chance in wasaname !!

VERY INTERESTING.

Both the above items have been removed from their web-site.

Never mind the plot getting thicker.  Is BISTO now banned in Farnborough ????

You just beat me too it, Chris.

Nice piccy of Mr Day, if you like that sort of thing of course !!

I'm told that Farnborough campanologists, (bell-ringers, for the less informed), are having an immediate rehearsal of mournful tolling for use in the very near future !

Interestingly, not the slightest indication that anything is wrong on the Ryman League website!

I wonder why Rich  ?

Nothing to do with laundry lines and dirty washing by any chance ?

The Creditor's meeting yesterday (Monday) was adjourned until Wednesday morning, (19th), the same day as appeal hearing, on the bond, at FA.

The plot thickens even more !!

Latest from 'another' web-site.....

"It appears that the majority Creditors (Day & Prince), all other Creditors voted against the CVA & have 28 days to appeal the decision

If they appeal, then this would effectively cause the club to fold. The FA are also investigating the CVA."

A larger spoon needed for the Bisto now, me-thinks !!
