v Rams

Bill in USA

yes agree their forward with the beard (don't know his name) looked good and was quite a handful for our defense and think he will trouble a lot of defenses in the Ryman South this season.  A very good work out for the boys for both teams and my MOM would be Jamie Taylor looked very good last night IMO

Yep-would go along with most of that Bill.

top 8 agree.

i thought both central defenders looked solid, and so did both goalkeepers .

outplayed in midfield-but you would expectthat from a higher div side.

whats happened to the ramsgate pitch?

couple of years since i've been there, but it was uncharacteristically bumpy ?

Fair to say that i have seen better triallist goalkeepers play for Margate-a bit like a rabiitt caught in the headlights ,but can't blame him- i think anyone playing behind margates defence would turn into a quivering wreck .

How the heck did we win the play offs-and wassmer and johnsom play so well.

normal service seems to have been resumed.

I know the usual stuff about its only pre-season will be spurted out ,and i would normally go along with that.

I also appreciate that players are at this level for a reason-consistency,and one expects mistakes-but there are just  far too many every week.

nothing changes.

Usual stuff from Terry about working on defending (as we were all last season),and it will never be great;and you don't expect it to be great and expect mistakes, but not at the frequency that these errors occur .

you are entitled to some improvement surely.

the basics-the gap between the central defenders is miles too wide-nothing changes.

Ranting not my style- but the  defence consistently 'does my head in ' as they say.

it was bad enough in the ryman-that defence will be crucified in national league south

Bull can't  be relied on to cover up the cracks.

agree that defence starts in midfield etc ec and the true cliches but again-the high level of errors -accepting these players are part time-is just too high

whats the answer-no idea.

does TB play 5 at the back and shore up the massive gap in the centre ?.

unlike many-i make no assumption about the investment from the chairman-but if he does have a bit of serious money-does he have to bite the bullett and say to TB -go and get at least two defenders who have recently played consistently at league one level and are absolute quality no matter what the expense.-just pay them to drop down a couple of levels.

It is a serious problem imo,and based on two years of  more recent observations, not two games

thats better 0-0 today.

much rather have a 0-0 draw than a 6-4 win in a friendly.

no matter that they may have been a young side-you still have to concentrate for 95 miutes and reads as though we did that better today.

i almost go excited when i saw team sheet-5 at the back i thought-if you are useless in defence-quick fix is more numbers.

then i read that CW was in midfield so still 4 at back.

thats ok though-at least we did not concede the nil-so much happier
