Like football club bosses up and down the country the Fairford Town boss Gareth Davies has been busy on the recruitment front as he continues to shape the squad ahead of what he hopes will be a much-improved season for the Cinder Lane side.

"We have brought in a number of new players this summer and there is now plenty of competition for places across the squad," said Davies.

At the back Jason Townsend has come in and he's immense in the air. He brings good experience and has already improved the backline. Goalkeeper Ben Mitchell returned towards the end of last season and it's great to have him back at Fairford.

In midfield Jason Milhench is a pacy winger, hardworking and has a quality left foot. Kieran (Jennings) plays down the middle and is decent on the ball with a great range of passing."

Davies has also strengthened the options in the frontline with the additions of former Cirencester Town man Scott Griffin amongst the new arrivals. "Up front Scott Griffin has joined us and he has great experience. He's a former England schoolboy player who has played for a long time in the Southern League and above."
