FF News
Herne Bay have named the Alzheimer's Society as their nominated charity for the 2015-16 Ryman South season. The Bay's officials announced on Monday the charity's logo would be displayed on a perimeter board and elsewhere at Winch's Field. An advert in the club's matchday programme will also be run throughout the campaign at no cost to the charity who will also benefit from a number of fundraising events the club's volunteers and officials are planning. Herne Bay's finance director Ron Boddy said: "The plan is to have monthly collections around the ground as well having collecting tins strategically placed in the club bar to encourage supporters to part with some of their change. "I am also looking at having a veterans match towards the end of the season when the weather is better to support the charity. We will also arrange a Spring raffle in support at the same time." The Alzheimer's Society is a care and research charity for people with dementia and their carers. Founded in 1979, the charity has more than 25,000 members managing a network of over 2,000 services at nearly 300 locations throughout the UK.
