didn't see whitehawk, where supposedly we played better;but i think everyone is a bit harsh on yesterday.

I thought Margate-did ok-and if there is more to come that augers well-but imo;not too much wrong with yesterdays performance-most game would win on that performance-even first half.mainly margate second half.

we will never know-but had Greens shot gone in-would that have changed the result -fine margins.

missed Lewis Taylor.

that all given-there were two negatives for me.

Love Bull-but i hate seeing goalkeepers as captains-supposedly it does not matter as the experience is there so everyone is captain-really-its like silent night out there.particularly in defence-who is 'leading the back line'-they don't say a word to each other-no wonder they are caught wanting so often (and bull in goal should be shouting/organising them-he doesn't.

Lets have a proper captain/leader on the pitch please.

second neg-first goal was terrible.

Yes we got caught out again in defence-but what caused it was absolute naivity when we have a free kick-in first third of match-Green takes it from wrong side-everyone else except Hunt goes forward-poncy free kick-we lose possession-everyone out of position-all running backwards. No wonder we get split in two in defence.

Whose stupid idea was it to send everyone upfield so early in the match .Yep-the players should have done better-but it was conceded off the pitch-TB or the captain should never allow so many players upfield so early in a match=madness.

Apart from that-keep calm and carry on.

If nothing else-hopefully a few margate supporters (and chairman ) will now recognise that conf south is a completely different kettle of fish to the ryman, where after ten years we had become too accustomed to it;and this is nothing like the conf south of ten years ago.

Margate will need one or two seasons here to find there feet at this level-and nothing wrong with that.

A couple of Havant observations-programme was weird size (reminiscent of Margate programmes of the 60's )and content was poor for a long established conf south club.

The havant manager had the sharpest creases in his trousers i have ever saeen-they were like the cutting edge of a knife !!

i note in his interview-Lee-i have really neat creases-Bradbury says for the first goal -Margate simply got caught too high'

absolutely right-why plunge everyone forward ,and then all out of position and running backwards once possession is lost.

poor defending regardless- but it started with being too 'gung ho ',and we rightly got punished .

Whatever game Ryan was watching for the official match report, it wasn't the same one I saw. Havant could have been 3 up by half time, and 5-0 wouldn't have been an unfair result.

The players look as if they think are too good for this league and only have to show up to win games. It is time for a back to basics reality check. At least Terry Brown was honest in his assessment.

One bright spot was Dan Green; put me in mind of Charlie Allen last season. Lets hope he doesn't get injured or worse still dragged down by the poor performance of his team mates.

Relegation form on Saturday. Let's hope for a turnaround before it is too late.

seems a bit harsh to me Chris, but respect your view.

i'm not one for 'performance'-couldn't care less-just want three points and to win everything-i even get upset if we lose the toss for choice of ends, but notwithstanding that-if margate do perform 15% better (and i have doubts that they can)we'll storm the league.

play as per saturday-and will beat most teams anyway .

In reality though-most games wont be played on nice pitches with nice football,it will as ever be about grinding out boring wins .

I wasn't at Saturday's game but there is plenty of praise for us on Havant's forum. Funny how different sets of supporters see things differently.

Thought Margate played better football then Sutton & can see them being around the top half.

no way could we say we dominated the game, and I would guess possession was about 60-39 (the other 1 was the ref getting in the way!) in Margate's favour

I thought we were lucky yesterday. Margate played the better football by a long way

We battled well, gritted our teeth and stuck it out against a very useful Margate team

So Danny Green hitting the post in the 1st half and then nearly walking the ball into the net in the 2nd half did not deserve to be goals.

Pah you still have Pipe smoke in your eyes.

We played well in patches and agree with lots of possession, however we did give away two careless goals which Ryan did allude to in his report so is a bit unfair criticising him Chris.

for all i care, we can misplace every pass, but just win the game.

apart from all of that ,accepting every media has its place and uses, nice to read some varying views and a modicum of debate as opposed to one liners and ploughing one's way through posts on pub meet up times

I didn't mean to be unfairly critical of Ryan. He has a job to do, and putting a negative spin on a performance is not part of it. I just wanted to give my opinion of the game, having been there watching it.

I have followed the team for many many years, including trudging down to Crabble and Homelands, so I think I am entitled to an opinion in the same way you are entitled to disagree with me.

Hear hear to Michael's last comment!
