FF News
Defensive powerhouse Darren Purse could be back in action for Staines Town within the next two weeks to give boss Nicky Forster a major boost. The 38-year-old skipper has been sidelined with a knee injury sustained in the closing moments of Swans' opening Ryman Premier fixture at Met Police on August 8. He is targeting the club’s FA Cup first qualifying round tie against either Bexhill United or Faversham Town on September 12, Staines entering the competition a round earlier than they have been used to over the past six years. On crutches for two days immediately after the clash, Purse has been hobbling since but scan results have revealed there is no damage to the knee's construction, a relief to Purse who admitted: "When you have a coaching day job like mine, when you are on your feet all day, you do wonder how you are going to manage if you need an operation and you can't work.
