FF News
John Fisher is banking on his side’s early-season momentum to drag them through this weekend’s testing trip to Highmoor-Ibis as Highworth Town travel to Reading without three key players. Highworth have made a storming start to the new Premier Division campaign and winning their opening five matches sees them sat second in the table, level on points with three other sides at the league’s summit. However, for their away assignment at last year’s runners-up Highmoor, they’ll be without injured top-scorer TJ Bohane while midfielders Callum Parsons and Richie Saunders are unavailable. Worthians manager Fisher is hopeful of bringing in a new frontman to fill Bohane’s boots ahead of tomorrow’s clash but says that at least two members of his current squad will have the opportunity to stake their respective claims for a starting spot at Highmoor. “They’re three important players but we’ve got a big squad and it’s a chance for the lads that come in to show what they can do. We’ve had a brilliant start and the lads are so confident. But we were confident going in to the FA Cup game (a 4-2 loss to Farnham last Saturday) and we got beat there. Highmoor are a good side. They’ll finish in the top six this season but we’ve won five from five and if we can go there and get another three points, that would be great.” Source: http://www.gloucestershireecho.co.uk/football Source
