FF News
The Ryman League’s clubs are lining up in numbers again to support Non-League Day for the sixth season running. With only a few exceptions, clubs playing in FA Cup, Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South fixtures are all offering free or heavily discounted admission to season ticket holders of Premier League and Football League clubs as well other groups led by members of the armed forces and emergency services. The brainchild of James Doe, a lifelong fan of both QPR and the Ryman League’s Harrow Borough, NLD was launched as a social media experiment during the international break to help Non-League clubs attract new fans who'd normally be watching Football League or Premier League matches. With no games in the top divisions this weekend, thousands of new fans around the country are expected to visit their local clubs for the first time. Following last year’s record-breaking event to promote football outside the professional game during the international break, Scottish Non-League clubs are also taking part for the first time. Nationwide, NLD 2015 is raising funds and awareness for Prostrate Cancer UK again this season. NLD’s organisers are also renewing their annual link-up with Kick It Out with four showpiece promotional games promoting equality and challenging discrimination at all levels of the game.
