Surely when a club is continually being suspended from the league those in charge must take some kind of action against this club in order to retain the credibility of the league? Points deduction perhaps or maybe even a fine?

[yes, it is easy to make comments which elicit anger
from the other side. People in glass houses...]

points deduction would be harsh; but if it was any other club in the league we would be wondering how long this can go on for.

another couple of months of stability, then more uncertainity? who knows!

Only the TRUE supporters left TO restart 'Enfield'

Most that are left at EFC are people who had greivencies against Jim Chandler or former board members.(and for a some of those, EFC is only their 2nd team..no names no pack-drill. Del/Rob)

Oh....lets not forget the current players freinds and family. [/quote]

You will those left at EFC dont give a #### about Jim Chandler and as for Del and Rob i think you will find they still support EFC in fact the were at the Supporters Xmas Party on saturday, given as much as everyone else.

So dont think you know people, when you dont.

Where EFC is concerned, Rob always attends more meetings and functions than he does actual games of football. <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

At least EFC's party didn't clash with Cheshunt's or Waltham Abbey's...thats the main thing.

Even the EFC Christmas party was held 'outside the borough'.....but i suppose it was close enough for Del to walk home afterwards

Is it not the case that the 'new found status' of the EFC Board is ultimately in the hands of the Liquidator [for the moment at least]. That suggests to me that there is a conversation to be had between the two clubs; I don't think that the democracy type issues between two sets of supporters are unresolvable when elected posts are at stake.

Lazarou mustn't be allowed to have the last laugh, as he surely will if he gets off scot free and the club is subsequently unable to survive without him.

All options, popular or not, must be considered.

I would like to see the two clubs talk.

ETFC have a great future ahead of them....and EFC have a great past.. (which most of us have been part of.)

I just think it would make my 20 years of supporting EFC more meaningful,if that 'past' could be incorperated in to the Enfield team i now support.

Not too sure about that..

There are too many entrnched ideas and bad feeling for any meaningful discussions to take place. There would be SO much resentment (by people on both sides) that it would be counter productive and would only lead to real problems.

At the moment there is a trmendous will to work for a positive future (hopefully by both clubs) and let it continue.

Would the current EFC supporters rather see the club fold, than merge with ETFC?

I'm not saying they will fold....but say in the near future EFC can't carry on,and it comes down to a straight choice.?

Where does what suggest what the two club have no need to talk to each other You ETFC are happy and so are EFC. Why would the clubs want to talk ?

Jim - well said totally agree

I beleive the club is over most of its trouble as the Ryman would not have let the club start or re-start playing if it felt the side would fold.

As for folding if the 1st team had gone it would not have folded the club as there is still plenty of football at the club under the Enfield Football Club name

The fact that you'll rather see EFC become little more than a youth sunday league outfit, than be incorperated with ETFC and try to recaim former glories, speaks volumes Rob.

we'll happily move ahead without EFC on board, but don't say the 'olive branch' wasn't offered.

LS - are you in a position to offer an Olive Branch?

It ma be useful over the next few years for ETFC to have a feeder club...

Does it really, and why not ETFC incorperated into EFC, you all left because of TL so why not come back now he is gone, I would have no problem with that.

But Bryant is adamant that any link-up between the clubs would happen only if Town fan's voted for such a move.

I think you will find EFC fans will have to vote for it as well.

There are those on each side who are keen to keep their respective clubs apart, but I have a suspicion that the majority of ETFC supporters would favour some kind of eventual amalgamation between the clubs. Afterall, the more of us there are pushing in the same direction the sooner a team from the Borough of Enfield can reclaim the title 'Kings of Non-league football'.

Maybe there is no room for manoeuvre, but surely we would all be fools to allow petty squabbles and selfishness to dictate relations between the two clubs.

Mr Bryant is right. Any link-up between the clubs should definately be voted for.

absolute [****!!****]...

I think it is incredibly unlikely that more than a handful of fans from either side would want to even consider an amalgamation. There are a few (and I suspect only a few) people who are voicing this and the majority of people i know (and that is more than a few!) are 110% AGAINST.

We have come a very long way on our own and are doing very well thank you!

Good luck to EFC in anything and everything they do. I have the utmost respect for them. All of them.

But as I have said in a previous thread any merger would cause nothing but resentments and it is extremely unlikely that both sides could work together.

Jim,i think your slightly missing the point.

For ETFC fans to agree to join with EFC....It wouldn't be a merger as such.

It would be ETFC 'incorporating EFC' on ETFC terms.

As Town hold all the cards,i see the 'merger' if it ever happened,as little more than Town agreeing to take the name EFC and their history, under ETFC's wing to save the name Enfield football Club from dying.

In the same way a larger company merges with a smaller company..It is intergrated in,with the minimum of fuss.

Sorry EFC fans, but thats the reality.

If it did go ahead, certain compromises who have to be taken from both sides......How about having the EFC badge but with Enfield Town written under it...And maybe ETFC willing to concider gradually dropping the 'Town' part of their name in 10-15 years time...no guarantee's of cause.

These are just thoughts and possibilities, but they need to be discussed.
