Not heard anything re the DFC v Eversley game, but I can't envisage any problem.

I'm told by tweet that pitch is 'wet', but subject to no more rain. pitch should ne OK subject to referee's inspection.

Bedfont Sports 2 Epsom and Ewell 2

Well, where do you start with this !

Very even first half ended goalless with no hint of the drama to come

Epsom took the lead in the 2nd half with a looping header though the moaning had already started

Confusion reigned before Bedfont were awarded a penalty for handball on the line, the culprit being asked to leave the field, which was smashed into the net. They then went ahead with a good finish on the left with a couple of minutes to go only for Epsom to equalise in the 90th minute with a cross cum shot at which point the 10 for Epsom who'd been moaning throughout and had previously been booked for a poor challenge seemed to be shown a straight red presumably for opening his mouth once too often. Not content with being sent off he walked over to the assistant on the nearside and aimed abuse at him which the assistant reported to the ref as the 10 seemed very close to shoving him

Just a few observations from me if I may

I attended the game as a neutral though I was stood with the Bedfont captains dad who I know from my Ashford visits and must admit the ref wasn't the best.I can understand to a certain extent that frustration set in but if I did that at work I'd be shown the door and rightly so Having said that if a player made a mistake the ref didn't call him a fu..ing cheating pr..k . The moaning started on the Epsom bench and spread to most of their players which was a real shame as they played some decent stuff when football broke out. Yes I know Bedfont were pinching a few yards at throw ins but which team doesn't try it on ? The Epsom keeper was time wasting in the 2nd half but I didn't hear the Epsom bench shouting to the ref to hurry him along :-)

Still, at least it meant an interesting night and well worth the admittance money. Oh, and the cheeseburger was lovely

Said it before and will say it again, any team with the right attitude and personal can beat anyone in this league,I still say Hartley are the best team i have seen so far but they now have a cup final to play every week because they are top, maybe a bit of unrest creeping in because of bigger teams showing an interest in some of their players, who knows ?This is a great learning curve for Millers and the other Hartley manager, being a manager at this level is not just about putting names on a team sheet many many things need to be handled off the field as well, well done to Baggy Lea great result lads.

My match report is going to be delayed today.

I really thought I would have calmed down by now but still not enough to write the match report.

I would also point out in answer to the quote above that if you felt there was no hint of the trouble to come then you weren't watching the first half.

We have had two abysmal performances in a row to put up with. On Saturday most of the poor decisions went our way and it was Hanworth that were harshly dealt with. This time we were well and truly sh*t upon with no protection for our players throughout, which was why our Manager was going ballistic on the touchline and our winger got booked after he had been fouled for the third time in five minutes but with no free kick given at any point. All of that was in the first half alone. As for the second half...... :flame:  :flame:  :flame:  :flame:  :flame:

Oh yes, just in response to one further point, the Assistant called one of our players a c*** so, yes they do give it back. We had the assistant on Saturday too and from my discussion with him at half time, he clearly still held a grudge. By the way also, our Manager had never been sent off before and our winger who got kicked frequently had never been booked before.

I'm not saying Bedfont were dirty here, like us they were competitive, but players need protection and when a referee is so quick to call a match off when it is "a little wet" these days, supposedly for their protection, they need to remember this when the game is on too.

Saturday's assessor was in for nearly half an hour with the officials after the game. I wonder how long he was in there yesterday...Maybe he's still there!

Maybe you ought to do two match reports. One now and one after you have calmed down.

We can choose which one we would like to read

Hi Rich, I did see the 1st half but just thought it was a bit niggly with one or two poor decisions on both sides. I saw you going in the clubhouse with someone else at half time but a Bovril beckoned so sorry I didn't say hello

I knew nothing about the assistant calling one of your players a c..t and if he did he should be ashamed but I honestly thought he was poor for both sides. The Bedfont 8 could have had another penalty for the little tug just after your 3 got sent off for playing goalkeeper but think the ref got that right because he made a meal of it as he had earlier when he got booked for diving

No axe to grind with your players as I said you played some good stuff, with the tricky 11 catching the eye on his mazy runs. I thought a draw was a fair result and look forward to reading your report

No problem TM! I was meeting a friend that doesn't normally come up to the games otherwise I'd have probably stayed outside. He left after 70 minutes and couldn't believe how it had ended!

I rarely go in the boardroom as I can't be bothered with the niceties, although have no axe to grind with Bedfont Sports who are a nice bunch of people.

I agree he was poor on both sides. I also agree that the second penalty shout was probably borderline.

As for the first penalty, our full back, who is one of the more eloquent and sensible players in our team said it was nowhere near his hands and was perfectly positioned to block the header. He had never been sent off before while playing for us. Others have said that it hit him in the nuts. After the game a Bedfont supporter showed a pose of our player with his hands out in front of him, but why would you need to do this as the ball would obviously have hit his body and stayed out? It's not a natural position to stand in either.

Whilst I was at the other end so didn't get a great view, I believe our players on this one and seriously believe that the assistant was waiting for an opportunity to give something like this, which I know is a sad statement but that's how we feel right now. Our keeper was also fouled in the build up but that was never going to be spotted by this set of officials.

Whilst I can't argue about a draw I felt we had more of the chances and the Bedfont keeper was definitely the busier. He was also harshly booked by the official. Why is it these days that officials have to underline their own mistakes these days by issuing a card? If the ref had owned up to the fact that maybe he got one wrong from time to time he would get a great deal more respect from the players as a result.

Last season we had about three poor officials all season. This season we are way past that tally already. What is going on?

Please also note that the one league match we lost this year, against Chertsey, was well officiated so this is not a "moan about the ref because we are losing / dropping points etc." situation. I've already said that Hanworth were the most affected by Saturday's ref as were Chessington when they were robbed of a point at ours in the last minute. I could name other games too.

I couldn't see the guy handle the ball either, too crowded in there, but the Bedfont players were adamant. My eyes must have been deceiving me because I'm sure I saw the far side assistant flag for a corner first before the ref and everyone headed over there and he gave a penalty

I was stood in front of the clubhouse with Billy Jeffreys dad (proper name dropper me ;) )

Not sure when I'll be seeing Epsom next as I only do midweek games but if I do I'll say hello
