Macclesfield Town boss John Askey has praised striker Kristian Dennis for his continuing goal scoring form in the Vanarama National League.

The striker netted for the fourth game in a row in the 2-0 victory over Bromley on Saturday to record his 18th goal of the season in all competitions.

The loanee from Stockport County has scored six goals in his recent run, which included a hat-trick in the 5-2 thrashing of mid-table Woking.

The Silkmen boss is now delighted with the club’s league standing after Saturday’s result and has called on Dennis to continue scoring more goals throughout the season. However Askey has also stressed that he has faith in other members of the squad to contribute with goals.

“We’re in a decent position and I’ve been happy with how we’ve played so far this campaign.

“Kristian’s having a really good season where everything he hits is going in.

“I’m sure there will be a spell where that’s not the case, but we have got other people who can put the ball in the back of the net as well. But to have somebody who’s getting towards 20 goals makes a massive difference,” he said.

To reach 20 goals before the end of November would not only be a remarkable achievement, but Dennis can easily reach that milestone with a brace when the Silkmen travel to North Wales to take on Wrexham on Saturday.
