FF News
Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law chose to focus on the positives after a 2-0 FA Trophy defeat at Nuneaton Town. He reflected: "Obviously disappointed in defeat again. l think 2-0 flattered them - a totally inept referee has cost us the first goal and, admittedly, the second one we've made the wrong decision on that - in the conditions we shouldn't have thrown that back to the keeper - that's something that we tend to have a bad habit from. "l thought we came here with a plan - l thought we worked it - l thought we dominated possession - l thought we were the better team, but we've come out of it on the end of a wrong result again. "We've come here - they're top of the table - for how long l don't know - but we've come here and we've totally nullified them - they didn't have a Plan B, but as l say the referee was maybe the Plan B. He's given them the leg up with the first one, then we're chasing the game. The turning point (was when) we've hit the post - we've had two cleared off the line and then you find you go up the other end and they score. "l think that's when you know it's not your day, and we seem to be having too many of them at the minute - as l've just said to the players l think we've come here, been the better team, dominated possession - it was a totally different game from when we played them before and we've got to take that as a positive, as an improvement and we've got to build on it."
