I suppose it was a 'mistake' that you had to play your last game of the season away to Braintree?

When will the excuses end?

At the end of the day, the title was one over the whole season - both teams deserved to go up - all these excuses about when such and such a game was played is getting a bit like a stuck record!

Oh and we've found a team in the conference who like to make excuses just like you - good old Margate - should be an interesting season.

As a Gravesend fan, I am all for friendly banter, but no doubt you Canvey fans are thoroughly fed up with the digs at your team & manager from our fans.

Why anyone needs to hark back to our games last season, i cant really understand - we won the league over an entire season, not those 2 games.

It was great to see the attendances that there were at both games and we will be fortunate if we have anything similar this year ( although the Margate games will no doubt come close)

Similarly, Canvey will be hard pressed to match last seasons achievements, given the changes to your squad and the strengthening of other Ryman League sides. But I, for one, hope that successcomes your way, as you have been very unfortunate for one reason or another in each of the last 2 seasons, and they do say, 3rd time lucky, dont they ??

As has been said elsewhere, the one comment I would make, is that Mr King should try & think a bit more, before he makes the comments he does - I suspect that, more often than not, Mr King is quoted out of context, and also that he is not exactly the most eloquent of public speakers anyway, so things sometimes come out wrong

Just a little forethought though could very much change his image (and indeed that of Canvey as a whole)amongst non league supporters in general

Nah we just like to give you lower league sides a chance to play with the big boys.

You keep saying that to yourself, even after we beat you

From Dazza:-

<blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr>

[color:"red"] What is it about that place they must like seeing their team get beat. Well that will give them something to tell their school mates when they cry into their milk in their break, whilst inventing something very childish and written in poor english to post on the Canvey fc discussion board.

From Phil Old Boy:-

<blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr>

The reason Gravesend want to play Canvey is because there is a part of them which is saying; [color:"red"]did the best team go up. There were excuses why Gravesend beat Canvey in the first match. However, when the teams played each other at Gravesend, both teams were prepared and the classier team won. [color:"red"]I believe Gravesend want to try to bury the ghost, but this will never happen as the Canvey team will probably have a very different look to it so no comparisons can be made.

<hr></blockquote>

1. No crying into our milk at break-time, it's the summer holidays.

2. Poor English? You lay a ghost and bury the hatchet.

3. Never happen? Friendly or not 5-2 says it all.

4. You bet the best team went up.

Goodbye! You are the weakest link. Cooomme Ooonnn Yoouu Grraayyss.
