Enfield Town v Met Police FC

Recommended Posts

After a very impressive performance, but disappointing result, against Dulwich last weekend, Town will be looking to bounce straight back to winning ways, when they welcome Met Police to the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium tomorrow afternoon, for another crucial RPL Premier Division encounter.

Like ourselves, the Blues will still see the play offs as a realistic possibility. Last season they finished a place below us in the league, but took our place in the play offs for all the wrong reasons. Enough said!

Our matches against Met Police are always close, keenly contested affairs, and tomorrow will be no different. In their last two away matches, the Blues have beaten Canvey Island and Wingate & Finchley. They have also won away at Dulwich and Leiston, so we need to be on our guard, and put away our chances.

This is a 'must win match' for both clubs, and Town, with home advantage, will take real heart from their performance last weekend, and will approach this contest in an upbeat mood. Should be a cracking match, played in a great atmosphere, with plenty of noisy support for Brad and the boys.

Good luck everyone. Let's do the business guys!

RED CARD

The Met are down to ten men after one of their players  brings down Harry Ottaway in the 64th minute.

He'll probably get a 'Fixed Penalty'  fine, then !!

Great result on a freezing cold afternoon. Congratulations and very well done to Brad and our guys on keeping a clean sheet, and securing three points against a decent side, who have produced some good away results this season. Also, well done all you Towners who braved the cold to cheer on our team today. These are the type of teams we need to beat to get one of those play off spots ..........and we did!

If you were one of the hardy souls at the QEII Stadium today, please share your thoughts on the match with others. Cheers!

It was a bit of a reversal of last week to be fair. We took our chances and they didn't. They were a very good footballing side and I was particularly impressed by their No. 11. They played it on the floor for 90 minutes and looked really good value. We don't do that anymore and predictably kick it long to Harry, who battles for everything and wins most but unfortunately, possession is ultimately surrendered and it comes straight back at us. To end the season in the playoffs and have a chance of winning them, I think that we have to get back to playing to our strengths, which I believe is playing it on the floor. We have very talented players at this level and we're not getting the best out of them.

Great first goal, fantastic cross from the byeline from Tyler and a very good header into the bottom corner from Bobby to make it 1-0. Second was a nailed on penalty smashed in from Doyley.

I hate to moan after a good win but I believe that we have the best team in this league and should win it as champions.

ST - I don't think we play it long all the time..... played some decent stuff today with Tyler excellent on the wing and Bobby 's movement off the ball keeping Met's back 4 very busy.

but as you state MPFC could of scored but for no luck in front of goal for them.... Claudio played extremely well in defence I thought and won a number of crucial towering headers..

Joe Turner (Met 11) also impressed me.. He has played for Wealdstone and had attracted football league interest..

Corey looked a little out of sorts for me... is his injury/knock hindering him? He'll be back to his best soon..

Their straight red card was slightly harsh in my opinion... think it defo was a 2nd booking and red but not straight sensing off.

All in all a very impressive team performance, a clean sheet and more movement up towards the top 5 where we want to be.. Can't grumble at that can we??
