Ash Trees 3 Borough 0...and into the Senior Cup semis

Well, that was a pleasant surprise.

We matched a team from two steps above and achieved an emphatic win though, admittedly, two of the goals were scored in second half stoppage time.

On a slick, fast surface Harrow played slick, fast football which we took time to adjust to, but by the half hour mark we'd adapted fully and acquitted ourselves well.

The first goal was always going to be crucial, and a lovely through ball got a slightly lucky deflection to Bayley who skilfully slotted it through the advancing keeper in the 68th.

Though they never really pulled a major save out of Tyler, Harrow put enough pressure on to make it uncomfortable, though we defended resolutely and our foraging up front made it an even match.

With time (and footballs) running out, you might have expected us to wind down the clock, but a dipping thunderbolt from Beads and a beautiful low curler into the far corner from Bitz, both from 20 yards out and both in added time, were the cherries on an enjoyable cake.

Sammy will probably win man of the match for a fine performance, but I thought Will threw himself at everything and had his best game for us. Mind you, everyone played their part.

The lads are one game away from a final. For what's been achieved so far this season, that would be deserved...but we need to focus and keep our eyes on the prize.

Great effort. Well done, lads!
