Hippolyte named as Forster's successor at Staines Town

Staines Town FC have appointed Johnson Hippolyte as the Club's new First Team Manager.

A statement on the club website confirmed the decision.

It read "Chairman Matthew Boon has been in talks with the former Maidenhead United boss and has decided to act quickly to relieve the pressure on the Academy duo Martyn Spong and Mark Fabian, who have been carrying out the role since Nicky Forster's departure at the turn of the year.

Johnson, 51 and known to all as 'Drax', is no stranger to Wheatsheaf Park, having managed rivals Yeading, and then Maidenhead United, for lengthy spells between 2001 and 2015.

He brings plenty of experience of playing the game at our level, being a former striker with clubs such as Hounslow, Uxbridge, Chalfont St Peter, Wealdstone, Chertsey Town, Dulwich Hamlet, Aldershot Town, Hampton, and Chesham United. Career highlights as a manager have included back-to-back promotions as Yeading surged into the Conference South, and then achieving promotion with Maidenhead in his first season, gaining a 6th place finish in the same league.

We extend our gratitude to Martyn and Mark for stepping in once again at a difficult period for Staines Town. They have worked extremely hard to steady the ship and to an extent beyond what was asked of them, while continuing to perform their existing roles with the Academy & Youth set-ups, which will of course continue"
