Parallel thinking

So after a bit of silence the wife says…..

.
Do you drink beer?
.
I said: Yes
.
Wife:: How many beers a day?
.

Me: Usually about 2 or 3
.
Wife:: How much do you pay per beer?

Me: around £4.00 (This is where it gets scary !)
.
Wife: And how long have you been drinking?

Me: About 20 years, I suppose

Wife:: So a beer costs £4.00 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at £360. In one year, it would be approximately £4,300 correct?

Me: Correct

Wife:: If in 1 year you spend £4,300, not accounting for inflation, the past 20 years puts your spending at £86,000 correct?
.

Me: Correct
.
Wife:: Do you know that if you didn't drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari?
.
I said: Do you drink beer?

Wife says:: No.
.
Me: Where's your Ferrari?
