FF News Posted May 4, 2016 Share Posted May 4, 2016 Mickleover Sports have announced that Steve Taylor has been appointed Assistant Manager to John McGrath. Taylor joined Derby County in 1986 but finished through injury in 1992 but went on to the coaching staff taking over the under 18's. He remained at Derby until 2006 having helped set the academy up and worked his way up to first team coach. In 2007 he joined Mark Robins and was first team coach at Rotherham, Barnsley, Coventry, Huddersfield. He finally came back to Derby and took over the under 21's but left Derby in 2015. Taylor has worked directly with some of the biggest managerial names in English football including both Jim Smith and Steve McClaren whilst at Derby County. Sports Chairman Don Amott said that Steve will bring a wealth of experience to the club and sees him and John McGrath forming a formidable team. Taylor commented "I met John for a coffee last week and was very impressed with him and his vision for the way he wants to take the club forward.
