FF News Posted May 5, 2016 Share Posted May 5, 2016 Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club Blyth Spartans have announced that assistant manager Lee Picton has left the club. Picton, a former Whitley Bay and Morpeth Town player, took over the role as manager Tom Wade's assistant in February 2015, following Colin Myers' departure from the Croft Park club. The thirty seven year old leaves Spartans on the day after they were beaten by EBAC Northern League side North Shields in the Northumberland Senior Cup Final at St James Park. A statement on the Spartans website confirmed Picton's departure and confirmed that a number of interested parties had made themselves known. The statement in full read: "The Club can announce that coach Lee Picton has decided to leave Blyth Spartans to pursue other opportunities. Lee brought a high degree of professionalism and skill to the club and everyone at Croft Park would like to thank him and wish him the best of luck in the future. The Club has already been approached by a number of possible replacements but General Manager Ian Evans would be interested to hear from anyone who feels they have the relevant experience to take on the position of coach at the Spartans" Source Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
