Our friends at Thurrock did us a favour today by beating 2nd placed Carshalton 3-0 away from home.

Our other friends, Hornchurch, also did us a favour by holding Hayes to a 1-1 draw away from home.

Thanks guys.

So Canvey are looking comfortable with a 10 point lead, but no chips on our shoulders, no arrogance. Just a small degree of optimistic confidence that is growing game by game.

I seriously think Thurrock and Hornchurch will be our main challengers in the New Year. Can't see Hayes and Carshalton lasting the pace and I think potentially Hornchurch are the one side who could catch us if we slip up.

Todays Hornchurch result could be the start of the usual George Borg drop off of form that his teams are notorious in suffering at the xmas stage.

This 10 point gap will change to 7 points by Saturday night. As Carshalton will win their match. While Ricay will beat de pikeys.

No arrogance from the 'Pikeys' just a simple observation about the way the lead appears to be opening up. You may be right, the lead may well be cut to 7 points by Saturday night - so what?

Billericay are likely to play out of their skins on Boxing day; it is so important to so many clubs to beat Canvey. Just as it is so important to so many opposing fans to come onto the Canvey forum to have their say.

Remember, the team that wins the championship only needs to be one point ahead on one day of the season - the last day.

Just typical of these two from Basilricay, get one win under their belts, then onto our forum as though they are going to win the League. Your team has got to find a ladder before they get out of that hole.

Who knows, you may be right Dan. But I would consider that another successful season - just like the past five. To win the championship would obviously be the icing on the cake, but I'll settle for watching good, entertaining football, lots of wins, loads of goals, excellent banter on the crowded terraces, good crack with the players who meet with us in the bar after home and away games and the overall feeing on contentment when you are associated with a successful club.

I know you lot have experienced this at Billericay in the past, but sadly those days now seem to have gone.

Let's look forward to a great game on Boxing Day, but win, lose or draw I wouldn't want to swap places with any of the few Billericay fans that are left.

I reckon we can just finish outside the relegation zone. A few good runs. And i belive the run started when we drew to grays and the run will not finish to you lot.
