Difficult game, not the best first halves you are likely to see but Aveley had the two best opportunities, one ball going straight across the hornchurch goalmouth and a free kick hitting the crossbar. Second half , Hornchurch increasingly got into the game but it did take a goalkeeping error to win the game. 1961 COYS Posted August 20, 2016 Share Posted August 20, 2016 Very good performance, tight first half with both sides creating a couple of chances. Big performance from David Knight. Abs looks fit again and frightened the life out of the Averly left back when introduced in the second half. Best moment of the game was with 2 minutes to go Averly attacked down our right hand side with two of their quicker players , Dave Collis was the only man that could stop a very dangerous attack, Dave duly launched himself at the winger cutting him in half clearly a great yellow card to pick up to stop a dangerous situation developing. Unusually there were only 50 programmes on sale which meant many didn't get one, and one guy offered £10! Of course sporting a Hornchurch Scarf drapped across the chair next to him (fcking turncoat) thought he hated us?
